Ladakh, “Little Tibet” or “ Land beyond the Passes” as it is known is one of the most remote areas of India, lying to the north of the Himalaya on the Tibetan Plateau and to the south of the Karakoram. Variety of activities are symbolic of your journey from DISKIT GOMPA, the oldest and largest Buddhist monastery in the Nubra Valley to Hunder Sand Dunes is most popular for the camel rides in the high-altitude cold desert. The camel Safaris are done on Bactrian Double – humped Camels which are a reminder of the bygone era of Silk Route trade. Pangong lake to view its ability to change color from light green to crystal blue and sometimes even red and pink. Great trip to have cream of Ladakh.
Arrive Leh airport, meet our representative and transfer to Hotel, check in and rest advised to acclimatizational in the high altitude. In the evening visit Leh Palace, later drop at the local market in Leh to explore the city. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast visit HALL OF FAME: Hall of Fame is a museum constructed by the Indian Army in memory of the brave Indian soldiers who laid down their lives defending the motherland in the Indo-Pak wars. The Hall of Fame museum is located on the Leh-Kargil Road, about 4km from the city of Leh. It stands as a reminder of the great sacrifices made by our soldiers to ensure the safety and security of our country. GURUDWARA PATHAR SAHIB: Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, most revered place where Guru Nanak Dev ji, founder of the Sikh religion is believed to have conquered a demon. Legend has it that once Guru Nanak Ji was meditating at this place and a demon had thrown a big rock to obstruct his prayers but the boulder turned into soft wax that failed to harm him, seeing this the demon asked for penance for his deed and Guru Nanak ji forgave him. The boulder with the imprint of the body of Guru Nanak Dev and the footprint of the demon is on display in Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, MAGNETIC HILLS: Magnetic Hill is one of the most intriguing spots in the country. This tiny hillock is said to defy gravity as it tends to pull vehicles upwards. It is quite thrilling to defy the laws of science and be pulled in the opposite direction. The scientific theory states that there is a strong magnetic force emanating from the hills that defies gravity at this particular spot. Later visit SANGAM RIVER: Sangam is the confluence of Indus and Zanskar Rivers in Ladakh. It is located 35km from Leh in Nimmu, on the Leh Srinagar highway. The two rivers can be separately seen meeting at this point. While the Indus River appears as shiny blue, Zanskar River appears muddy green. You can also enjoy rafting on the Zanskar River. Later, we will return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast we will drive through the Kardungla Top 5359 M (word highest motorable pass with the height of 5359 M) to have a magnificent view of Nubra valley. On arrival check in to the hotel. Late afternoon visit HUNDER SAND DUNES: Hunder Sand Dunes is a famous silk route. Enjoy the scenic beauty and reach the sand dunes to capture a beautiful evening. Hunder is most popular for the camel rides in the high altitude cold desert. The camel safaris are done on Bactrian Double-humped Camels which are a reminder of the bygone era of Silk Route trade. Spend some time for a photo shoot and witness the circle of nature around. Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel.
After early breakfast visit DISKIT MONASTERY: Diskit Monastery also known as Diskit Gompa or Diskit Gompa is the oldest and largest Buddhist monastery in the Nubra Valley of Ladakh, northern India. It belongs to the Gelugpa sect of Tibetan Buddhism. It was founded by Changzem Tserab Zangpo, a disciple of Tsong Khapa, founder of Gelugpa, in the 14th century. Later drive for Pangong Lake (4,250M) crossing Durbuk Village and Tangste via Shyok. On arrival check in to campsite, later free at Leisure around Pangong Lake, witness the amazing color changing crystal clear water in the laps of mighty Himalayas. Dinner and overnight stay in Pangong Fixed Camp.
Early in the morning see the Sun rising, later drive to Leh by crossing Chang La Pass (5,358M) , the third highest motor-able road in the world. Upon arrival at Leh, check in to the hotel. Dinner /overnight stay at hotel.
Morning after breakfast we will take you for day excursion to Indus Valley visit THIKSEY GOMPA Built some 600 years ago, Thiksey monastery consists of 12 levels ascending a hillside .The Gompa contains 10 temples; below the monastery itself is chapels and houses of monks. Also part of a new temple in Gompa containing a large Buddha statue. The H.H. Dalai Lama constructed this Buddha, 15 meters tall, in 1980 during a visit to Thiksey. Later we visit HEMIS MONASTERY: It is a Drukpa Lineage re- established by Ladakhi king Sengge Namgyal. The annual Hemis festival honouring Padma sambhava is held here in early June. Late noon back to Leh. FREE TIME for Shopping to buy Tibetan Carpets, Dry Apricots. Dinner/ Overnight at hotel.
Morning after breakfast checkout from hotel and transfer to the airport for return flight back to Delhi.
