Come and experience days of the British Raj by discovering some of the highlights of Eastern India. Starting in Calcutta, known for its literary, artistic, and colonial heritage we visit the largest museum in India. We then escape the bustle of city life to enjoy the tea plantations and scenic surrounds of Darjeeling, from where you can see Mount Everest on a clear day. Here we can immerse ourselves in Tibetan culture. Then it’s back to the plains visit Satpada Island the Island where Chilka Lake meets the Bay of Bengal. Explore the Ancient 1st century Buddhist complex in Lalitgiri to 10th century monument fine example of ancient and modern Kalinga School of architecture. Relax and unwind amongst the unique temples of 64 Yogini. Gaze upon the most famous monument of World Heritage Site – KONARK TEMPLE. Shop till you drop in the heart of textile village Raghurajpur – Puri.

ARRIVE KOLKATA

Arrive at Kolkata – The capital of WEST BENGAL. on arrival transfer to hotel. Evening walk around Park Street – Oldest town of Kolkata. Overnight stay at hotel.

KOLKATA

Early morning visit to the Flower market and Howrah Bridge. Back to hotel for breakfast. After breakfast visit Mother Teresa House, the Victoria Memorial and one of the largest and best museums in India, The Indian Museum. Overnight at hotel.

KOLKATA – BAGDOGRA – GANGTOK

Transfer to the airport to board flight to Bagdogra. On arrival we drive to GANGTOK Gangtok is the capital of Sikkim and found at an altitude of 1780m. From here there are good views of the Kanchenjunga peaks. On arrival check in hotel and noon at leisure. The place is truly a traveler’s delight. Overnight at hotel.

GANGTOK

After breakfast we visit the Rumtek Monastery and the Research Institute of Tibetology, which is situated on an altitude of 1547 M. After we visit ENCHEY MONASTERY: Perched on a ridge above Gangtok, the Enchey Monastery is nestled within lush woods with a spectacular view of Gangtok town. Built-in 1910. Evening visit Traditional Sikkimese art and handicraft’s Dinner / Overnight at hotel.

GANGTOK – PELLING

This morning after Breakfast we drive to Pelling in western Sikkim. After lunch at hotel, we visit the Pemayangtse Monastery- one of the oldest and most important monastery in Sikkim. Evening wish to visit Yuksum Village – the former capital of Sikkim. Overnight at hotel.

PELLING – DARJEELING

After breakfast drive to Darjeeling, lunch on arrival and board noon toy train to the scenic hill station of Darjeeling, where we visit the Ghoom Monastery- the oldest monastery in the area which was built in 1875. After lunch visit tea Garden. Evening free at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

DARJEELING

Today early morning we visit TIGER HILL, the highest point in this area, at 2590M. Tiger Hill is famous for its magnificent views of Kanchenjunga, the world’s third highest summit (8598M). On a clear day, Mount Everest is also visible. After lunch we visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute- which was started by Everest climber Tenzin Norgay after he climbed Mt. Everest. and Tibetan Refugee Centre. Overnight at hotel.

DARJEELING – BAGDOGRA- KOLKATA

After breakfast transfer to Bagdogra Airport for your noon flight to Kolkata. On arrival transfer to hotel, Visit Kali Temple and evening at leisure, shop some Bengali cotton Kurta -Sarees as famous for and spectacular view of Howarh Bridge at night. Overnight at hotel.

KOLKATA -BHUBANESHWAR Shatabdi Train

Late morning transfer to railway station for train to Bhubaneshwar. Met upon arrival and transfer to hotel. Evening visit LINGARAJ TEMPLE: one of the oldest temples of Lord Shiva in the capital city. Dinner / Overnight stay at hotel.

BHUBANESWAR

Morning after breakfast Visit KHANDAGIRI & UDAYAGIRI: famous name of the two caves believed to have been carved out as residential accommodation for Jain monks during the reign of King Kharavela. Udayagiri, popular as the sunrise hill, has 18 caves.After drive to 64 YOGINI TEMPLE: Dedicated to Goddess Durga and the 64 Yoginis who are considered to be her different forms. On way back to hotel stop visiting MUKTESWAR TEMPLE: a 10th century old monument is fine example of ancient and modern Kalinga School of architecture. The walls are decorated with legendry stories from the Panchatantra. Free evening. Overnight at hotel.

BHUBANESWAR – (Lalitgiri, Ratnagiri, Udaygiri) - JODI KILA PALACE

Morning after breakfast we drive full day trip to LALITGIRI - the 1st century Buddhist complex in Orissa, which together with Ratnagiri and Udayagiri creates Puspagiri University which has a few best sculptures of that age, a holy destination for many Buddhism devotees related with the origin point of Buddhism. RATNAGIRI belongs to Mahayana Sect along with famous kings like Ashoka and Gupta Dynasty. Ratnagiri is also known for the flow of main rivers of Odisha known as Mahanadi, Brahmani, Kimiria and Birupa. Then continue drive to UDAYAGIRI, it referred as ‘Madhavapura Mahavihara’ in the history, as per the epigraphically artifact found in the region. Dinner / Overnight stay at hotel.

JODI KILA PALACE – CUTTUCK - PURI

Today after having breakfast we proceed to Puri. Enroute we visit Pipli - the artist village where locals produce applique art a town of artisans famous for their colourful fabrics. Later we drive towards Puri on the sun-kissed beach and view the breath taking sunset. Dinner / Overnight at hotel.

Morning after breakfast drive to CHILIKA LAKE: One of the most important wetlands in the world because it is home to a phenomenal variety of birds. We visit Satpada Island - a major attraction for spotted Irrawaddy dolphins and Sea Mouth - the Island where Chilka Lake meets the Bay of Bengal. Back to hotel for overnight stay.

PURI

This morning we visit JAGANNATH TEMPLE: One of the major pilgrimage centres in India followed by a visit to Chandrabhaga Beach. Later we visit KONARK SUN TEMPLE – an architectural marvel which is an UNESCO World Heritage Site. After lunch visit Raghuraj Pur – textile village of famous IKAT Orissa textile. Overnight at hotel.

PURI – KOLKATA

Today early we take our train to Kolkata. On arrival lunch at local restaurant. Post lunch transfer to Kolkata Airport to board connecting flight to onward journey. Tour End
