DELHI - INDORE – OMKARESHWAR (Temples on the Island – One of the twelve Jyotirlingas) 90 KM

Morning after breakfast transfer to the airport to board flight to Indore. On arrival at Indore drive to Omkareshwar, Check in to hotel. Overnight at hotel.

OMKARESHWAR

Today after breakfast we visit SHRI OMKARESHWAR JYOTIRLINGA TEMPLE: this is one of the 12 treasured Jyotirlingas in the country. The temple is perched on an enticing island of Mandhata which falls on the confluence point of Kaveri and Narmada Rivers. Mandhata Island has its shape resembling the sacred symbol of “OM” which makes this land even more divine. MAMLESHWAR TEMPLE: It is a protected monument which exhibits the extraordinary architectural style of ancient India. 22 Brahmins performed the Lingacharn rituals daily in this temple since the reign of Maharani Ahilyabai. KEDARESHWAR TEMPLE: Built as a tribute to Lord Kedar, Kedareshwar Temple is known for its intricate architecture. It is cradled on the banks of the pious river Narmada which adds to the glory of this place. GAURI SOMNATH TEMPLE: Gauri Somnath Temple comprises a huge 6-feet linga which is made up of black stone. The linga is said to possess some predictive quality which adds to the fame of this Shiva temple. Return to hotel, Evening at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

OMKARESHWAR - MAHESHWAR (Ahilya Fort) 65 KM

This morning we drive to Maheshwar, a glorious temple town upon the Narmada River. Enroute, we stop at Neelkanth Palace. In the afternoon we board a boat to cruise along the Narmada Ghat and watch the sunset at Shehaster Dhara. Overnight at hotel.

MAHESHWAR

This morning we visit HOLKAR FORT: this was the opulent palace of Rani Ahilyabai Holkar also known as the Queen's fort. Today it has been converted into a guesthouse, which is managed by the son of the last Maharaja of Indore, Prince Shivaji Rao Holkar. NARMADA GHAT: is another off-beat destination in the town of Maheshwar surrounded with lush green environs. This is one of the many places constructed by Rani Ahilyabai. JALESHWAR TEMPLE: is also dedicated to the third God in the Hindu triumvirate, Lord Shiva. He has many benevolent and fearsome forms. Drive back to hotel for overnight .

MAHESHWAR – MANDU 65 KM

Morning after breakfast we proceed to Mandu fortress. Mandu is one of the most evocative sights in Central India as it is located on an isolated fissured outcrop overlooking the surrounding valleys. On arrival check into hotel. Evening at leisure.

This morning we visit buildings from the Village Group: the ruins of Ashrafi Mahal, the Afghan-style Jami Masjid and the marble tomb of Hoshang Shah. Later in the afternoon we visit Baz Bahadur’s Palace and other buildings in the Rewa Kund group, including Roopmati’s Pavilion. Evening visit Sunset point. Dinner Overnight at hotel.

MANDU– UJJAIN 154 KM

A Before breakfast we walk to Echo Point to watch the sun rise over the tombs. Walk back to hotel for breakfast visiting a mosque and some tombs after breakfast. We then proceed to Ujjain, one of India’s holiest Hindu cities. Evening visit Temple area and join for evening Arti. Overnight at hotel.

UJJAIN – BHOJPUR -BHIMBETKA - SANCHI 300 KM

This morning we visit Ujjain’s most important temple, Mahakaleshwar Temple. We continue drive to Sanchi, stopping enroute to visit the rock paintings in the Bhimbetka Caves and Bhojpur Temple. BHOJPUR: founded by the Parmara King of Dhar, Raja Bhoja (1010-1053), and named after him, Bhojpur is renowned for its magnificent Shiva Temple and Cyclopean Dam. BHIMBETKA The Rock Shelters of Bhimbetka are in the foothills of the Vindhyan Mountains in the central Indian plateau. Within massive sandstone outcrops, above comparatively dense forest, are five clusters of natural rock shelters, displaying paintings that appear to date from the Mesolithic Period right through to the historical period. Continue drive to Sanchi. Overnight at hotel.

SANCHI

After breakfast day trip to Vidisha, Udayagiri Caves. After lunch back to Sanchi is famous for its Buddhist art, including stupas, monasteries, temple and pillars dating from 3rd Century BC to 12th Century AD. Late noon visit Sanchi Stupa and around area. Dinner / Overnight at hotel.

SANCHI – BHOPAL – ORCHHA

After breakfast we continue drive to Bhopal. Upon arrival, we visit the Taj Ul Masjid, the largest mosque in India. After lunch we transfer to the train station to board train to Jhansi. On arrival in Jhansi we drive to the temple village of Orchha. Overnight at hotel.

ORCHHA

Orchha is famous for its well-preserved temples and palaces dating back to the 16th Century. The most spectacular Jehangir Mahal, Raja Mahal and Raj Praveen Mahal dating back to the 16th – 17th Century. It is also a remarkable places worth seeing in Orchha are shrines of Siddha Baba ka Sthan, Janaki Mandir and Hanuman Mandir at Ohharedwara. Evening watching Light & Sound show at Orchha is a thrilling experience which takes one through Paget of history. Overnight at hotel.

ORCHHA – KHAJURAHO

This morning we drive to Khajuraho, built by the Chandela dynasty that ruled Central India for 500 years. Khajuraho has been declared a World Heritage site. On arrival transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel. The following morning, we visit the most famous erotic temples of Khajuraho. Overnight at hotel.

KHAJURAHO

Today after breakfast we visit the most famous The Temples of Khajuraho are India’s unique gift to the world. These are fine examples of Indo-Aryan architecture that depict many aspect of Indian life at the time. Which were built in the short span of a hundred years between 950 – 1050 AD. The three main compartments are the entrance (Ardha-Mandapa),assembly hall (Mandapa)and sanctum (Garbha Griha) with geographical divisions are : Western Group, Eastern Group and Southern Group. Morning visit Western group, where as post lunch we will visit Eastern and Southern Group. Evening back to hotel for overnight.
